Ostroy Malaysia Open Shirt Coffee Ride

Hello cycling friends, you are invited to join our very first Ostroy open-shirt coffee ride on Sunday the 15th of October in collaboration with the W Kuala Lumpur.

What is an open-shirt ride?

Great question, and before we chew into that one, let me give you a little background about Ostroy. Ostroy is a fairly new cycling brand from New York. They are located in Brooklyn, New York, and that’s where they design all the dope stuff. All bibs are manufactured from super premium materials in beautiful Tuscany, Italy, and so are most jerseys. Ostroy is known for its colorful and different approach to cycling apparel, and cool designs without sacrificing comfort and durability.

The open-shirt ride is an introduction to the Ostroy brand and an easy Santai way of cycling around the city. Usually, road cyclists are all aero, tight jerseys and bibs to maximize watt input and speed. On this ride, we ditch the regular jersey and say hello to a comfy summer-look-like shirt. To enjoy the cooling breeze while on the bike and for cooler IG pics we suggest you wear a base layer beneath your shirt and just unbutton the shirt, yeah you heard me, open that *hit up and let the shirt flutter in the wind.

Wear your favorite bibs, cargo with pockets or road bibs and instead of a super aero jersey, we ask you to wear a casual shirt, like the guy in the video, perhaps you want to wear a base layer underneath and then button the shirt open all the way.

Our Ostroy open-shirt ride will be fun, and enjoyable, and we will give zero *ucks about Aero.

Ride Details

This ride is open to Cyclopath customers and friends, and anyone wanting to join, road bikes/gravel bikes only, please.

All participants of the ride will have the following benefits on that day only sponsored by our partner the W Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Complimentary Parking in the W KL during the event from 6.30 am to 12.00 pm FREE Coffee, Tea and pastires before the ride starts, come early if you want some:)

After the ride, you may join us at the W Hotel’s WET Pool (please bring your own towel)

You will receive a 15% discount on all food and beverages on WetDeck until 12.00 pm.

Ensure you pay for your food/beverage consumption before leaving. Thanks.

Please note that this is also the CarFree morning in KL, if you want to park your car at the W, we recommend you do so before 7.00 am, or else the roads will be blocked, and you won’t be able to access the hotel by car.

The ride will not follow the official car-free morning ride, and the expected duration of the ride is about 2-3 hours.

Route 40 km is about 600 elevations.

W – Bangsar – Mayor – W

A few climbs but nothing crazy, no drop ride.

6.45 – 7.30 am Meet-up at W Kuala Lumpur with coffee

7.30 am – Push off –

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do you have to wear an Ostroy Kit (Bibs and Shirt)?

You can wear any bibs and shirt combo you like, BUT STRICTLY NO JERSEY, we are serious, It’s an open-shirt ride, so please don’t shop up if in a jersey. You will go straight to jail if you show up in a jersey (insider joke)

Is the route difficult?

Yes and No, if you are brand new, and you don’t cycle and climb much the few climbs along the route may be challenging, for others it’s a walk in the park. It’s a no-drop ride but please if you really suck in climbing, and you are super new and slow then perhaps you get familiar with the route first and join the next one. It’s only a 40km ride, but we want to make sure we finish it in a timely manner, somewhere before 10:00 a.m.
